The Jersey Dress…

For days when you just don’t know what to wear, my fail safe is the jersey dress! It’s the easiest thing to dress up or down.

Here are some of my favourites…

Grey Jersey

Earth Couture Jersey Dress

Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend everyone!

The Printed Shoe…

The Printed Shoe...

Heels: Printed Silk-Covered Leather Pumps, Nicholas Kirkwood for Erdem, Blue Floral Wedges from River Island

Boots: The Mass Carpet Shoe from LD Tuttle, Floral Western Boots from Topshop

Flats: Animal Print Brogue from Hobbs, Half Calf Lip Flats by Siegerson Morrison

I’m generally more of a jeans and t-shirt kinda gal, which is why I tend to put a lot more focus on my accessories. Sometimes, the little pieces can often be forgotten, but for me, these are what absolutely make an outfit. Plus… a good collection of accessories can often allow you to get away with recycling that little black dress twice in one week. Genius!

My accessory of choice at the moment… The printed shoe! I”m coveting every one of these pairs, I just need to find a place to keep them.

Monday Blues…

Monday Blues
From left – right:
Stud back boots from Topshop
Peplum top from Zara
Nail polish in Phallic from Illamasqua
Navy dress by Edith A. Miller
Denim jacket from Free People

Another weekend gone by, but these navy, demin and cobalt pieces are gorgeous and not too harsh on the purse strings. So… I guess this makes the Monday Blues not that bad after all..maybe? Maybe not.

Have a great start to the week! x

Bronze, Silver or Gold?

With the 2012 Olympics still in full force and happening just a few minutes down the road from where I work, I couldn’t actually avoid writing a post on it. So here it goes…

When tickets first became available I was pretty indifferent on whether I got to go or not, but since that amazing opening ceremony, I, like a million other people I’m sure, are desperate to get my hands on one. Excitingly enough, I did manage to get a taste of the action when the Cycle Road Race made its way down my road – even if it did only last about 10 seconds!

Women’s Cycle Road Race

So as the medals come rolling in, and keeping to the Olympics theme, here are my picks of the loveliest and shiniest bling, worthy of any winner…

Welcome to The Style Wire. I’m Laura, a 20 something, sun seeking, style stalking, culture vulture who grew up all the way over in South East Asia only to find myself now working in London. I know! – pretty much the opposite of sun seeking – but making the move West, almost 5 years ago, has been fun, inspiring, eye opening and life changing, so it seemed to make sense for me to start documenting it all.

This blog is just a way of sharing my interests in fashion, art, design, food, travel and much more.

Hope you enjoy it! x
